Today we release the first of three reimagined songs off our record. While we have always loved going into the studio to build up tunes, we felt that three of the songs on our album, ‘Hello Weakness, You Make Me Strong’ became more densely produced than we’d originally conceived them to be. And while we can love big production, we also appreciate the intimacy of a song closer to its bones. With this EP, ‘a whisper becomes a shout,’ we’re taking those songs back to their more intimate expressions, just the two of us.

To share a bit of the backstory, while making these new song-and-video interpretations, Rachel got sick with the virus and Gracie fled upstate to try to steer clear of getting sick, but shortly after also contracted the virus. In these videos you will see us both together before getting sick and while we were separated in quarantine as we continued to work on these pieces remotely. In a unique way, the amalgam of togetherness and solitude in the process helped give these songs just what they needed: focus and attention as well as distance and space.

Everything you hear and see is self-recorded, self-produced, self-filmed, self-edited, self-made during a lot of isolated time with our individual selves, and we hope you and your self will now take these songs into your own sphere however you need. Without further ado, we present to you ‘undo (a whisper)’ off our new EP, ‘a whisper becomes a shout,’ out June 25th on Righteous Babe Records.
